At Capital QBâs, we believe the most dangerous quarterbacks arenât just the ones who can throw the farthest â theyâre the ones who can think the fastest and understand the game at a deeper level.
Thatâs why, for the 2026 off-season, weâre launching:
đ§ Weekly In-Person QB Film & Classroom Sessions
Designed to build football intelligence, decision-making, and leadership, these sessions teach quarterbacks how to read defenses, understand offensive concepts, and process the game like a college-level QB.

đ§ What Weâll Study in the QB Film Room
đ Offensive Playbook Install
- Concept structure, spacing, and route combinations
- Progression logic â why the read goes 1â2â3, not just âwhoâs openâ
- Turning the playbook into a problem-solving tool, not just memorization
đ„ Game Film Breakdown
- Learning from real game situations: successes, mistakes, and adjustments
- Studying high school, university, and pro film to see the game at speed
- How to self-correct and prepare like a serious quarterback
đĄ Understanding Defensive Box Play
- Defensive line fronts and gap responsibilities
- Linebacker movement, pressure indicators, and blitz patterns
- How defensive structure dictates whatâs happening behind in coverage
đ Coverage Recognition
- 1-High vs 2-High safety looks
- Zone vs man principles and pattern-match concepts
- Pre-snap vs post-snap keys â how defenses disguise, rotate, and bait QBs
This is where quarterbacks learn to anticipate instead of react.
đŁ Why This Matters
Every quarterback trains:
- Footwork
- Mechanics
- Arm strength
Very few consistently train football IQ â and thatâs what separates:
- Starters from backups
- Leaders from passengers
Arm talent is useful. Football intelligence wins championships.
𧩠Coach Ron Raymondâs Defensive Perspective
While Coach Ron Raymond has spent most of his career as a Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, the last two seasons he has coached defense, serving as the Defensive Coordinator for the St. Matthew Tigers this year.
That means QBs are learning from a coach who has:
- Called plays on offense
- Designed pressure and coverage on defense
Understanding how defenses attack gives quarterbacks a massive advantage when diagnosing blitz, disguises, pressure triggers, and coverage structure.
đ How Film Room Fits with Dome & Gym
- Dome = Game-speed execution with receivers
- Gym = Footwork, balance, accuracy & mechanics
- Film Room = Football intelligence & decision-making
Together â complete quarterback development.
No more guessing.
No more relying on athleticism alone.
Quarterbacks will see the game differently â and play differently because of it.
