Yesterday, the Embrun Sports Dome was abuzz with the energy and talent of 25 quarterbacks from Ontario and Quebec, some journeying from as far as Levis, Quebec, and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. It was a day where passion for football was in the air, and the sound of spiraling footballs was the music of the moment.
The Commanders QB Camp unfolded as a testament to the spirit of the game, starting with an introduction to the core values that define Capital QB’s—our L.E.A.D. Philosophy. This set the tone for a day dedicated to growth, not just in skills but in character, where leadership, agility, and decision-making were the pillars of our pursuit.
A heartfelt thank you to the receivers who came out to catch passes—your participation was invaluable. Your efforts and engagement truly made this camp a comprehensive and immersive experience for all the quarterbacks involved.
Our gratitude extends to the incredible coaching team and all of our volunteers, with special thanks to CFL Head Coach Paul LaPolice, whose experience and wisdom captivated and inspired us all. Aaron Colbon, Joey Kwasniewski, Mathis Dolan from Griffon de Outaouais, Justin Shibley from Carleton Ravens, Geoff Coventry, and our very own founder of Capital QB’s Ron Raymond, thank you for sharing your expertise and for guiding our quarterbacks through various drills focusing on everything from pocket speed burst testing to RPO Mechanics.
The three types of leadership were exemplified through every drill and discussion, highlighting the diversity and importance of leadership styles. Whether vocal like Tom Brady, quiet like Zach Collaros, or inspirational like Henry Burris, each style plays a critical role in the fabric of a team.
From warm-ups with Joey to precise quarterback throwing mechanics with Ron, and from RPO Drills with Paul to on-air throws, the camp schedule was packed with action and learning. Each minute was utilized to its fullest, culminating in a wrap-up that left us all with a sense of accomplishment and camaraderie.
As we look forward to the 2025 Commanders QB Camp, we carry with us the knowledge, memories, and friendships forged on this day. To all who attended, thank you for your dedication and hard work. The future of football looks bright with such promising talent and commitment.
Until next time, continue to lead, adapt, excel, and make those game-changing decisions both on and off the field.
Best regards,
Capital QB’s Team
