Commanders QB Camp

2025 Commanders QB Camp – Official Recap

The 2nd Annual Commanders QB Camp is officially in the books—and what an incredible success it was! Held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at the Embrun Sports Dome, this sold-out camp brought together quarterbacks from across Ontario, Quebec, and Newfoundland, all eager to sharpen their skills, learn from elite coaches, and embrace the Capital QB’s L.E.A.D. Philosophy.

🔰 Opening Message: Leadership Starts Here

The day began with a powerful leadership talk from Coach Ron Raymond, founder of Capital QB’s. He introduced the campers to the L.E.A.D. PhilosophyLeadership, Extension of Plays, Athleticism, and Decision-Making—and broke down the 12 Types of Leaders that every quarterback can strive to become. His message set the tone for a day focused on not just football performance, but also personal growth and accountability on and off the field.

🏃‍♂️ Warm-Up & Speed Work

Campers were led through a high-tempo warm-up and agility block by Joey Kwasniewski, Lead Titan Performance Coach and Director of the uOttawa High Performance Centre. His focus on movement efficiency, speed, and athletic readiness ensured every athlete was primed for the fieldwork ahead.

🔄 Skills Stations & Development Sessions

Throughout the day, quarterbacks rotated through a mix of technical drills, mechanics training, and competitive periods. Highlights included:

  • Footwork & Freestyle Stations – Cone drills, QB wave movement, pocket manipulation, and change-of-direction work.
  • RPO Mechanics – Waggle snap timing, Ride & Decide drills, and play-action mechanics.
  • Throwing Mechanics – Partner work on foundational throwing (base, stride, release), 1-step and 3-step timing throws.
  • Throwing Stations – Rapid-fire throwing on air and “Sturn Technique” for throwing on the run.

Camp wrapped with a group picture and final words of encouragement from the coaching staff.
