Cambridge, ON (April 13, 2016) – Quarterbacks Alex Lavric, Cale Cutliff, Noah Craney, Jacob Spinella, Jack Zergiotis, Alexander Petty, Ben Maracle, Michael Warner, and Nicholas DeJesus headline some of Canada’s brightest emerging football stars in the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge, as Fox 40, Russell Athletic, Big Kahuna, Canadafootballchat.com (CFC), the Canadian Football League (CFL), and Cable 14 today announced the game schedule for the third annual edition of the nation’s largest all-star football showcase event.  The first game kicks off Friday April 29 at 7:30pm exclusively on Cable 14, from Tim Horton’s Field in Hamilton.

The CFL will be using both OPC Varsity games to evaluate amateur officials.  “The identification of talent isn’t just restricted to players”, said Glen Johnson, SVP Football for the CFL. “We are excited to use all-star games like the OPC Series to develop and scout prospects as potential CIS and CFL officials.”

CFCs platforms deliver highlights, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content from the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge. Game rosters will be available at the stadium as well as online the week prior to the event on Canadafootballchat.com.

“Cable 14 is excited to be part of the 2016 Ontario Prospect Challenge Football games at Tim Hortons Field. General Admission and Executive Lounge tickets will be available on-site only.  General Admission day passes include Adults ($10), Students ($5), and Children under six ($0).  Executive Lounge day passes ($20) and weekend passes ($30) are also available.  The Executive Lounge gives fans access to a climate controlled weather resistant room to watch the games as well as 2nd level outdoor seating.  The food concessions will be open all weekend.  Entrance to the stadium is via Melrose Avenue using the Gate 3 premium entrance.  After going through ticketing, fans will use the elevator to general admission seating sections 104, 105, & 106 (3rd floor) and Executive Lounge (4th floor).

The OPC gives back to local football teams and players every year.  Last year’s event rose over $3000 for local clubs and many underprivileged players have received full scholarships each year.
